The prestigious World Travel Awards has announced that its Grand Final 2024 will be hosted in the picturesque Atlantic islands of Madeira on November 24th. Esteemed leaders and influencers from the global travel and tourism sector will convene in the capital city of Funchal to discover who among them has been crowned the industry's crème de la crème.

The grand banquet will unfold at the exquisite Savoy Palace, part of the Savoy Signature collection, marking the culmination of WTA’s Grand Tour 2024, a worldwide quest to uncover the finest travel organizations on the planet.

Positioned on the same latitude as Morocco, Madeira boasts a sub-tropical climate and a unique eco-system, rendering it an ideal year-round destination. Additionally, this Atlantic archipelago is conveniently accessible with short flights from major European cities.

Graham Cooke, the Founder of World Travel Awards, expresses his gratitude, stating: “I am privileged that our Grand Final Gala Ceremony 2024 will grace majestic Madeira, a destination blessed with breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and delectable cuisine. This Atlantic gem epitomizes responsible tourism: an industry that fuels the economy while maintaining balance and sustainability.”

Cooke continues: “I eagerly anticipate gathering with esteemed leaders from the travel industry worldwide for what promises to be an unforgettable event etched in everyone's memories.”

Eduardo Jesus, the Regional Secretary of Tourism and Culture and President of the Madeira Promotion Bureau, shares his enthusiasm: “It is a tremendous honor for Madeira to host this prestigious ceremony,” recalling that Funchal was the setting for the WTA Europe Gala Ceremony 2019.

He adds: “Hosting this event presents a unique opportunity to showcase to the world how Madeira stands out as a singular and extraordinary destination."

Located just a short stroll from Funchal’s charming Old Town, the Savoy Palace epitomizes contemporary island hospitality with its exquisite design.

Roberto Santa Clara, CEO of Savoy Signature, remarks: “Hosting the WTA Grand Final at Savoy Palace is an unparalleled opportunity, and we are fully committed to embracing this challenge. We strive to elevate the hotel’s prestige, showcase the island's beauty, and promote Portugal on a global scale.”

In addition to the WTA Grand Final, Madeira will also host the 11th annual World Golf Awards during the same week, marking the first time the event will be held on the island. The award ceremony at Savoy Palace will be the highlight of an exclusive golfing itinerary, featuring rounds at the renowned courses of Santo da Serra and Palheiro.
